Bibliographical Guide and Legal Methods
This chapter provides some guidance to students dealing directly with French legal materials. Various French bibliographical sources are presented and their potential use explained. In order to help the student going to a French university, advice on methods of legal writing and on reading cases is also provided in this chapter. Bibliographical sources include textbooks, traités, casebooks, law reports, legislation, encyclopaedias, general journals, specialized reviews, Les mélanges, specialized books and research, legal databases, and CD-Roms. Meanwhile, legal methods include the two-part plan and reading and commenting on cases.
