This concluding chapter sums the key findings of this study on emotional significance of the heart. It examined two different hearts: the heart of symbolizing emotion and the heart of science. One of the most remarkable aspects of the medical and cultural history of the heart is the longevity of its emotional meanings. This can be attributed to religious, symbolic, linguistic, philosophical, and medical reasons.

Keywords:   heart, symbolism, science, cultural history, medical history, emotional meanings
