This chapter focuses on the lower castes in India by citing the story of Ekalavya, the earliest version of which comes from the Mahabharata. The Ekalavya story is not only about feats of archery but also about social reform and the virtue of devotion to the guru. The Dalits use the story of Ekalavya for their own purposes; they want him to revolt.
