The following table provides a list of early twentieth-century recordings of rural miniatures, virtuosic violin repertoire in the style hongrois, and other works for accompanied violin based on folk and popular music. It represents a diversity of composers, works, and violinists, but does not seek to be comprehensive. The table is organized alphabetically by composer and composition title; and under each composition, performers are also arranged alphabetically. Recordings are identified by violinist, accompanist, date, location, matrix number, and recording studio number and location, where this information is available. The matrix number is a code attributed uniquely to the master record from which issues are made, and can signify details about the disc including its size, the recording method, and take number.1 When matrix numbers are unknown, other identifying data is shown, if possible.
