This chapter focuses on the regulation of financial intermediaries in Mexico. Financial intermediaries in Mexico include many types of financial institutions: banks, securities firms, securities deposit institutions, financial leasing companies, factoring companies, auxiliary lending institutions, investment companies, and financial holding companies. The regulation of financial intermediaries in Mexico falls exclusively under federal jurisdiction which explains the uniformity of financial laws nationally.
