This chapter discusses Mexican labour law and other aspects of the social welfare state. It begins by discussing the historical background of labour law and labour rights, followed by a discussion on labour enforcement and adjudication of labour disputes and worker claims. It then discusses land reform and agrarian rights, the failure of the land reform system, and the 1992 Constitutional Reforms. Finally, the chapter explores other government welfare practices, including education, housing, and health care.
