This chapter examines how novelist J. G. Ballad's texts re-articulate the central question of how the law communicates and reproduces itself and the social. It examines Ballard's The Atrocity Exhibition and suggests that jurisprudence is a study of the means and affects of transmission. It provides a clarification on the definition of jurisprudence and discusses what jurisprudence can learn from popular culture.
