‘A Lamb-Like Beast’ (cf. Revelation 13.11–18): the Branch Davidians and the ATF
One of the beliefs shared by the Seventh-day Adventists, the Davidians, and the Branch Davidians relied on how a violent rite of passage would be required in order for the present age to pass into the coming age. Although the views that these three groups adopted regarding the forms were different, they came to a consensus that America would play no small part in the final event as it served not only as a location but also as an agent. These groups believed that America would serve as Satan's instruments for enforcing a Sunday law that would eliminate Sabbath-keepers who were the true remnants and keepers of God's commandments. Looking into Revelation 13 introduces two different beasts, one that arises from the sea and the other that appears ‘lamb-like’. SDA literature revealed that the first represented the powers of papal Rome while the other represented end-time America. This chapter explores how the ATF officers entered the Mt. Carmel premises using a ‘dynamic entry’ method.
