This book addresses hunger from a variety of perspectives that are new and relatively under-researched. The emergence of the WTO and the freeing of agricultural trade, for example, have serious implications for hunger and food security in many countries. The book examines the issue across regions. It also presents several technical, regional, and country case studies that facilitate comparisons. It tackles food security at three distinct levels: national, household, and individual.
Keywords: hunger, malnutrition, gender, trade, WTO, agricultural trade
