This chapter reproduces some correspondence between the author and Peter as to the correct analysis of Jones v Jones. The second edition of Unjust Enrichment shows that Peter remained committed to his ‘unjust enrichment’ analysis of Jones v Jones. In his words, ‘The only satisfactory explanation is that [Mrs Jones] was unjustly enriched at [the trustee in bankruptcy's] expense to the extent of the whole sum’.

Keywords:   debt, trustee, Jones v Jones, unjust enrichment
