This chapter continues the work of the previous one by examining the final two metres that are repeated in the Consolation, anapaestic dimeter and glyconic, which occur four times each. It is argued that each successive repetition intentionally recalls the earlier instances of the same sound and that these acoustic recollections play a dynamic, complex role in the prisoner’s therapy, each resonating purposefully with the others.
