A life course approach to cancer epidemiology
Epidemiologic studies have evaluated a limited number of cancer sites for risk factors over the life course. This chapter examines in utero and perinatal factors, and attempts to link these factors and motivating biology to subsequent time periods to incorporate a life course perspective. Breast, testicular, and prostate cancers are considered in detail due to the large volume of literature on these cancers.
