The effective magnetic moment of a molecule is calculated in terms of the energies calculated in the previous chapter, and is used to determine the beam shape and intensity of a beam deflected by inhomogeneous magnetic fields. By measuring these nuclear spins and nuclear magnetic moments, various molecular properties are calculated.
