In this chapter, the polarization properties of the light generated by bending magnets, wigglers, and undulators are explained in terms of Stokes parameters. It is shown that the polarization properties can be enhanced and controlled through the use of special asymmetric, elliptical, or helical magnet geometries. Finally, the power levels generated are examined and examples are given.
