This final chapter draws insight from the subjects covered and looks towards the challenges ahead with respect to achieving further understanding of how climate affects the ecological patterns and dynamics in marine systems. It begins with a list containing one key point from each of the main Chapters (1-10), followed by a more general discussion. Although the focus has been throughout on the marine or marine-based systems of the North Atlantic, many of the findings reported apply to other regions and systems of the world.
