This chapter examines the relationship between the Basel Convention regime and the sectoral pollution control treaties. Means to harmonize the relevant treaties with the Basel Convention regime are proposed, which would lead to the emergence of a global waste management regime covering all types of waste, not merely those subject to transboundary movement.
