This short chapter recounts the baptism of pagan Lithuania, considering the role of Jagiełło and the basis on which the Lithuanian Catholic church was established, stressing the role of Polish clergy. It looks at the establishment of the Catholic church in Lithuania, and in particular the endowment of the bishopric of Vilnius. It considers the creation of new Catholic parishes. It points to the consequences of the conversion for relations with the Orthodox church within the grand duchy.
