This chapter discusses some of the things discussed during the December 1944 meeting at Sorbonne, which marked the 250th anniversary of Voltaire's birth. Two of the speakers at this event were Paul Valery and Isaiah Berlin, who set the basis for a more in-depth discussion on Voltaire as a writer and how his works have contributed to a number of fields.
