Girolamo Ferlito of Palermo's prophecy regarding the ‘construction’ of Tempio in Venice in 1553 is also found to be appropriate for evaluating Du Bellay's Roman Antiquitez. Although this implies that Du Bellay's poetic odyssey soon resembled a bodily word prison, we also have to consider the existence of a basic antithesis about how there exists a set of incompatible differences between a past ‘idole’ and the living being of a poet which may be illustrated by Odysseus' character. This concluding chapter also points out how we have to consider certain conflicts between present and past, and living and dead, and that there occurs a searching for Rome in Rome itself.
