This chapter discusses Richard Blechynden’s relationship with Mary Walker. Blechynden settled with Mary in late March 1800. Following a nautch party hosted by Mary, she was asked to leave. Following her departure, Blechynden was left in an emotional void and tried many stratagems to bring her back, but to no avail. He finally took another bibi called Charlotte.
