The ship enters the Cove of Cork and casts anchor. The author lands at the town, visits the city of Cork and describes it, returns to the ship, and decides to visit Lord Cornwallis at Dublin, Ireland. He quits the ship, and sets out for Cork, where he visits Captain Baker. He sets out for Dublin and narrates his journey. During his visit to Cork, he learns that Lord Cornwallis (late Governor of India), who was the representative of the King in this island, having quelled the rebellion which had disturbed this country for several years, was settled in Dublin. He also finds out that two ships had lately been lost in the English Channel. After first visiting Dublin, he proceeds to London.
