Emotion
This chapter studies the topic of emotion as it is understood in identity theory. It shows how emotion fits into the theory, as well as the extent to which empirical work has supported the role emotion plays in identity theory. Most of the chapter is devoted to the discussion of emotion using the perceptual control emphasis in identity theory. The last section of the chapter discusses how the role of emotion can be further developed in identity theory.
