The Global Alliance for Justice Education
This chapter discusses an international organization, the Global Alliance for Justice Education (GAJE), whose members are committed to achieve social justice through education. It describes how and why GAJE was formed. It traces the development of GAJE's organizational framework, and how this supports GAJE's social justice agenda. The chapter examines GAJE's key initiatives and how they contribute to advance justice education around the world. Particular attention is given to the breadth of the GAJE network, its global and regional conferences, as well as the practical initiatives that those conferences have helped to promote. The chapter concludes that GAJE has been instrumental in facilitating meaningful collaboration across borders among clinical law teachers and others interested in justice education, and the sharing of ideas about how to achieve social justice.
