Introduction
This introductory chapter begins by discussing the collection of data on teenagers as they become emerging adults. The data was analyzed in order to address the question of what happens in the religious and spiritual lives of American teenagers when they start to grow up. The chapter then explains the use of the term “emerging adults” to refer to young people. An overview of the subsequent chapters is presented.
