New Ways of Spending
This chapter first looks at how things have changed in terms of spending away from the home and then looks at spending at home. Specifically it describes the dramatic transformation of purchasing and consumption away from home. Areas of at-home spending examined include the use of telephone psychics, dating services, and chat lines. The financial problems of Marcia and Joel are discussed.
