It was at Sha'ria Mala'ika in the Old City of Jerusalem that the authors began collecting the political ephemera and underground media of the intifada. Later they moved to a home of an American photographer who was going home to marry. The house was located in the Matzkeret Moshe, one of the first Jewish neighborhoods to be built outside the Old City of Jerusalem. The dark room is not the only repository for what the authors eventually called “the archive”. The project has virtually taken over their lives.
