This chapter analyzes the concept of gratitude and its relationship with well-being. It clarifies the concept of gratitude by presenting a conceptual grammar that states precisely what the emotion of gratitude is and under what conditions it is activated. It explains what gratitude is and what it is not and describes an explicitly Christian perspective on the nature and vicissitudes of gratitude.
