Non-replication of the replicable
This chapter presents a 1997 commentary on research findings that have not found timely acceptance in practice. It identifies a reluctance to repeat the work of others because of the value system of medicine as it struggles to become scientific — innovators are highly valued and celebrated while replicators are not held in high esteem and their work is denigated for being ‘imitative’.
