Home and family carers
This chapter examines research concerning the needs of home and family carers who serve terminally ill patients. It explains that caring for carers is important in terms of their own preventive healthcare and enhancing the quality of patient care by focusing on family dynamics and the home caring context. The chapter explores the various methodologies that have been used to investigate the impact of caring on home carers and the extent to which the view of home carers may be taken to be representative of patients' views.
