Amartya Sen: Capability and Well‐Being
Gaertner explores the aspect of measurability within Sen's capability approach, remarking that it is extremely difficult to determine weighing schemes for set evaluation and a set of basic functionings that captures definitions of what is basic in different cultural contexts. Furthermore, the interdependencies of freedoms and the variance in capability sets over time add to the degree of complexity in the evaluative exercise.
