Continuing Revelation: Learning from Judaism and Islam
David Brown (Contributor Webpage)
The first part of the chapter offers three arguments for insisting that any approach that automatically condemns post‐biblical developments will inevitably result in the condemnation of Scripture as well. The second part then suggests that Christianity should learn from Orthodox Judaism's and Islam's implicit acceptance of continuing revelation. In the case of the former, the role of haggadah and kabbalah is noted; in the case of the latter, the role of naskh, hadith, ijma, and qiyas.
