One's apologetic approach ought to be matched appropriately to the audience one is addressing – the sort of audience it is, and particularly its openness to the Christian message. While recognizing the strengths and weaknesses of each approach, the apologist may appeal to subjective experiences, to evidences and reasons, or to the Christian worldview as a whole. All that the apologist can do is hope to present a clear‐enough picture of the Christian religion that the Holy Spirit may find it useful in his dialog with our neighbor's heart.
