Argues that there is a human vocation, a human project to be pursued by humanity as a whole. Physical cosmology tells us that the universe has a history, a history that arguably seems to be a preparation for intelligent life. As we seem to have been expected by the universe, there must be something we are expected to do. If there is a collective purpose for humanity, it must involve a better world, the “reign of God” so to speak, the realization of utopia. We are each morally obliged to be part of this task.
