Services for younger adults with dementia
This chapter focuses on the impact of dementia on working age adults and their families. The chapter is organized in two parts. The first part aims to provide an overview of the clinical and service issues facing younger patients, their carers, and professionals as highlighted in the literature, particularly where these deviate from those faced by older people. The second part draws upon the local experience of a service and its evaluation, supplemented by personal comments, to try to identify the aspects valued by patients and their family, which in turn could contribute to a model of supportive care.
