This chapter discusses a formulation of a germane argument, with a juxtaposition of the absolute difference of two commentaries (one being that of Marjorie Levinson). These commentaries help to illustrate as dramatically as possible the almost boundless possibilities of marginal relevance generated by the statement of a great poem.
