International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW)
The International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) is an international organization representing the interests of social workers around the world, with its secretariat based in Berne, Switzerland. The organization works in cooperation with regional social work bodies, national organizations, and associations of social workers. It organizes international events, publishes policy statements, encourages cooperative initiatives between its members, and links to other international bodies. This chapter presents an overview of the structure, membership, and major functions of the IFSW; its history, positive actions and interventions, action projects, and future directions.
