Improving Social Work Practice Through the Use of Technology and Advanced Research Methods
This chapter focuses on the application of technology and advances in research to social work practice. It examines the strengths and limitations of risk determination models, and highlights the many myths and misconceptions held by child welfare practitioners about decision-making tools. It is argued that advances in technology have the potential to change the quality of service provision in child welfare.
