Abstract: This introductory chapter begins with an analysis of adolescent sexuality in the United States today. It then discusses the effect of religion on adolescent sexuality, and the rationale behind the decision to study this topic. An overview of the succeeding chapters and an introduction to adolescent religiosity are presented.
