Abstract: Chapter 1, Boghossian's and Peacocke's introduction to their anthology, provides the reader with a helpful route into the issues that are to be explored by the individual authors in more detail. The editors attempt to theoretically identify the a priori and sketch the difficulties that are involved in explaining the notion and stating its scope, thereby relating issues raised by other authors in the essay collection.
