Abstract: The grounds for believing central Christian doctrines are their prior probability, any relevant detailed historical evidence (e.g. that Jesus taught them, or that they record correctly events in which Jesus was involved), and that the Church founded on the Resurrection taught them. The grounds given by Duns Scotus for the credibility of the Bible are similar to these. The Church can grow in its understanding of revealed truth.
