Abstract: Discusses two methodological issues. The first is whether a non-philosophical text such as the Bible may be said to express or imply philosophical ideas about God. An example is taken from a recent discussion of the doctrinal implications of certain passages in the New Testament. The second is whether God's greatness or perfection is an argument that favours him being timelessly eternal.

Keywords: doctrinal, God, methodological, perfection, timelessness,
