Comparison between the ‘worlds’ approach to subjunctive conditionals and the Goodman approach. Much of each of them can be restated in terms of the other; but some requirements for a plausible account of subjunctives can be satisfied in terms of worlds but not in Goodman's terms. Also, Goodman's vexatious cotenability problem dissolves in the world's framework. A special feature of Pollock's account subjunctives is discussed. Keywords:conditionals,
