Abstract: This chapter studies operator algebras ‘up to isomorphism’ or ‘up to complete isomorphism’. Topics covered include homomorphisms of operator algebras, completely bounded characterizations, examples of operator algebra structures, Q-algebras, and applications to isomorphic theory. Notes and historical remarks are presented at the end of the chapter.
