Abstract: It is a cliché to say that we live in a globalized world in which investment flows. Communications, and the operations of multinationals from all parts of the world have changed the character of the international business environment. But they say the concept of globalization poses as many questions as it answers, and it is the purpose of this book to address these challenges. In Governments, Globalization, and International Business a prestigious group of international scholars describe and analyse the deepening globalization of the world economy and its implication for governments, firms, and different regions of the world. In doing so, they also consider the increasing mobility of knowledge and information, the role of multinational entrepreneurs, and the sovereignty of nation states in an emerging borderless world. After the introduction by the editor, the book is arranged in three parts: The analytical framework (5 chapters), Country case studies (10 chapters), and The implications for national and supra-national governments (2 chapters).

Keywords: business, case studies, companies, firms, globalization, governments, interdependence, international business, knowledge, policies, sovereignty, states
